About BeInformed:
BeInformed is the original award winning news reader application for BeOS. This will be the last release since development has stopped on the project. The latest release is version 1.0 for PPC and x86. The source is avilible from the web page.

Details about this version:

1) Eliminated the one window interface. Both NewsBe and Gossip are
good choices if you like the one window interface. The 3 window
interface is one of the things that seperates BeInformed. To me the
seperate window interface is more "Be like".
2) Double clicking on a news article in the Tracker causes the article
to be displayed in BeInformed. You could now use your own queries in
the Tracker to list the articles any way you want and only use
BeInformed to display the articles and retrieve articles from the
server.
3) Added a new header to the articles.
4) Cleaned up the properties code. Sizes of fixed windows are no
longer saved. It only slows startup and shutdown.
5) More networking cleanup. Fixed article retreival.
6) Some keyboard shortcuts have been fixed.
a) The subscribed groups list items "Filters" and "Newsgroups" can
be expanded and collapsed with the arrow keys.
b) The Option key is no longer necessary for menu shortcuts.
c) The 'm' key can be used to mark an article in the article list.
