About FastCounter:
A nifty time-lapse fade effect digital counter in a window. It just counts, but looks nice.
An example of fast animation using a backing storage bitmap, and a separate thread for timing (used to use Pulse, leaving behind some confusingly named functions, no longer used for the standard Pulse message), and alpha blending for a nice fade-out effect. For fun, try resizing the window while it is running.
By AGMS, July 2000. Public domain and not called AGMSFastCounter since it's just a hack.

Details about this version:
1.0 is the release version of this hack, it uses a separate thread for fast and accurate timing. There was a previous one that used Pulse messages, but 10 updates per second (the max from the Pulse facility) was too slow.
