About libart_lgpl:
Libart_lgpl is an amazing high-quality graphics library, useful for many 2-D imaging applications... now available as a shared library (.so) for BeOS! (Primarily of interest to graphics application developers.)
Libart is an LGPL library that can be used in many 2-D imaging applications, such as desktop publishing, image editing, raster image processing, rendering, postscript interpreting, PDF viewing and rendering, illustration software, etc. The library is a software component that does the 'dirty work' of rendering graphics in a raster format, under the control of another application.
Needless to say, this will be of interest mainly to application developers; the library can't do much on its own. It is, however, an outstanding piece of software, with features like anti-aliasing and alpha compositing built in.
This is the LGPL component of libart, complied for BeOS 5 x86 as a shared library. (libart.so.2.3.3)
I am *not* the author of this library, I merely built BeIDE projects for easily compiling it under BeOS as a shared library. Please do not credit me in any way for the original work. On the other hand, please do not hold ArtOfCode (the author of libart) responsible for any mistakes I may have made in porting this library to BeOS.
I have not added to, removed, or changed any of the original source code used to build this library, which is all included in the 'source' folder.
I decided to compile it as a shared library (.so) to make it more accesible to new developers. I've included a 'headers' folder in the 'source' folder, that you can use to link against the shared library.
Use at your own risk!
Hopefully this will help bring some new, high-quality graphics and illustration apps to BeOS!
