About Mpeg Utils:
With the libs and executables included in the archive you will be able to either playback mpeg1 or Motion Jpeg video files, or encode Motion Jpeg video.

Make sure you have installed the latest SDL library in order to run these utils.

Details about this version:
Make sure you run these programs from a Terminal. Versions included are the current ones as of April 3 2001: SmJpeg version 0.2.1, Smpeg 0.4.2, Jpeg 6b.

If you would like to play automatically your mpeg files by double clicking them with 'plaympeg' without the use of a Terminal, please use this utility.

It is known that this mpeg player has better performance than the default included in the current BeOS Media Player (however, it could have been even better if someone could optimize SDL and add overlay support).
