About Allegro WIP:
Allegro is a game library distributed freely, supporting DOS, Unix (Linux, FreeBSD, Irix, Solaris), Windows, and BeOS (MacOS and QNX ports are in alpha stage). It provides many functions for gfx, sounds, player input (keyboard, mouse and joystick) and timers. It also provides fixed and floating point math functions, 3d functions, compressed datafiles, a simple GUI and much more.
Here you'll find the latest Work In Progress (WIP) version of the library. The WIP version comes in source code form, so you'll have to compile it yourself (development tools needed); just follow the instructions in the readme.be file shipped with the library. Examples and test programs included. A demo is included as well, but to make it run, you'll need to download this datafile.

Details about this version:
This WIP brings significant new features/fixes for BeOS users. You are encouraged to use this instead of the latest Allegro stable release (4.0.2)!
New BeOS features include a safe BWindow based windowed driver (so Allegro apps will finally be able to run also with the VESA system gfx driver, which doesn't support BDirectWindow), as well as a fullscreen overlay driver (for the cards that support RGB overlays)
