About PGP:
PGP allows you to create a secure, unforgeable online identity. You can sign documents and files, verify signatures from other people, encrypt and decrypt files for security. Although formerly illegal for use in the USA, due to the expiration of the RSA patent, this can now be used anywhere.
It is considered one of the stongest crypto systems available for the desktop, and is in worldwide use.
