About OTBinupdate:
This is a script I wrote (actually, it's a derrivative from my OTupdate script) to download the latest precompiled OpenTracker and OpenDeskbar sources from OpenTracker site and install them (it even restarts the Tracker and the Deskbar for you!).
This is a script I wrote (actually, it's a derrivative from my OTupdate script) to download the latest precompiled OpenTracker and OpenDeskbar sources from OpenTracker site and install them (it even restarts the Tracker and the Deskbar for you!).
For this script to work, you much have a wget client (with a filename of "wget" (no quotes)) in your path. I have found that the one at:
http://www.bebits.com/app/798
works on x86 systems. A PPC version is also available. The script assumes that the OpenTracker and OpenDeskbar package will be placed in /boot/home/OpenTracker before extraction, however this is changable by editing the OTDIR variable in the script. To run this script, just click on it in the Be menu or go to a Terminal and type:
OTBinupdate
or double-click on the script in /boot/home/config/bin

A few bugfixes:
The OpenTracker team changed its filenaming conventions, so the stable builds didn't work anymore. Fixed.
A bug where if the stable download failed, the script would still restart the Tracker and the Deskbar before exiting. Fixed.
Removed some clear statements.
