About octave:
GNU Octave is a high-level language, primarily intended for numerical computations. It provides a convenient command line interface for solving linear and nonlinear problems numerically.
This the last version available. It is fully functionnal under BeOS R5, but still some work to do : dynamic loading of function modules ...
Try it. Original sources available at www.octave.org.
I'm not a real developper, so if you can do it better, don't hesitate.

Details about this version:
This the latest version. I encounter problem for the dynamic loading functionnalities, so this BeOS version has not this option.
The next release will have this option included.
