About ArtPaint:
ArtPaint is a painting and image processing program. It is aimed at creating digital 'paintings' as well as manipulating existing images and combining multiple images into one. It is an affordable and powerful solution for anyone who wishes to create and edit images on the computer.
Some of the key features of ArtPaint include the following:
- A comprehensive set of painting tools
- Many image processing operations (and most of them with real-time
preview)
- Selections for masking parts of the image and moving items around
- Layers for added flexibility in image composing
- Undo with user-settable depth

This is a release build of ArtPaint.
Details about this version:
This is the first time ArtPaint has been built on an R5 system! Some changes were needed in order to make this happen, hence, the major version number change.
Other fixes and enhancements include:
- New build system
- Popup panels (like Crop, Text, etc.) now start with their text boxes in focus
- Scale now correctly rounds pixels when preserving proportions
- The global Tab key to toggle floating windows no longer interferes with text boxes
- The BeOS color slider now produces colors with alpha=255, and its text boxes work
- Commented out lines from the scripts which showed as errors in BeIDE
- Fixed an off by one in the width and height of selections as shown in the StatusView
- Plus some other minor changes
