About EndSession.BeOS:
Another menu to shutdown, restart, standby or lock your computer that will be familiar to people who are new to BeOS and coming from another OS with a shutdown menu. Cool semi-transparent blue background!
Using code from "Misza's Crazy Apps 1.5" and code from LockWorkstation and help from tb100 (aka Simon) (thanks), I wrote this app to learn a little about BeOS programming.
I wanted to give users who are familiar with another OS a similar shutdown experience to make the transition to the wonderful BeOS a little more smooth :)
Instructions:
1. Place EndSession.BeOS file in /boot/apps
(it could really be run from anywhere but it looks for the icon file in the /boot/apps directory)
To use the Standby option you will need to download and install:
APM Driver (http://www.bebits.com/app/597)
(... it works on my laptop).
To use the Lock Workstation option you will need to download and install:
Lock Workstation (http://www.bebits.com/app/2824)
Known issue: I basically assumed that the screen resolution is 1024 x 768
Suggestions:
* Create a spicekey
* Create a link on your desktop
* Create a link in /boot/home/config/be/
* Create a DeskLink (and add this to your Userbootscript)
desklink "/boot/apps/EndSession.BeOS"

Variation description:
First of all: THANKS TEAM MAUI for creating Yab and yab-ide for plain old R5.
This is just an idea and if you do not like the big KDE icons or the Haiku logo please feel free to re-create your own graphic.
Icons come from:
http://www.kde-look.org/content/download.php?content=52362&id=1
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=52362
There are 2 files and folder for the images installed:
One file is a compiled binary that will run on R5 as is:
EndSession.Haiku
The other file is:
EndSession.Haiku.yab
This file is the actual yab program code that needs the yab interperter installed. You can use this file to run / compile versions for Zeta or Haiku.
Thanks for your support :)
