About ClamAv for BeOS 0.74:
Clam AntiVirus is a GPL anti-virus toolkit for UNIX. The main purpose of this software is the integration with mail servers (attachment scanning). The package provides a flexible and scalable multi-threaded daemon, a command line scanner, and a tool for automatic updating via Internet.
Instructions for installing and using
(A)
(1) Unzip ClamAvforBeos
(2) create a directory/folder inside /boot/home/config/share give it the name "clamav"
you should now have /boot/home/config/share/clamav
(3) move clamscan, sigtool and freshclam to /boot/home/config/bin
(4) move BeClam and img2.png to /boot
(5) use freshclam to get latest database files main.cvd and daily.cvd see instrcutions below
(B)
(A) To use Beclam just click on it a window will open up with four buttons and a textcontrol
(1) Scan current will scan the file entered in the textbox be sure to include path and filename ie /boot/home/filename
(2) Scan all will scan recursively from /boot directory
(3) About is simple about this application box
(4) Quit -- closes the proram
(B)clamscan is a commnad line program that does the actual work
(C)freshclam also command line program that is use to dowload latest virus database you must be connected to the internet
usage freshclam -u baron --datadir=/boot/home/config/share/clamav
(D) sigtool use to build a cvd file or list the names of the virus inside cvd file
