About Parallel Port Audio - A Sound Driver Tourial:
Short Description: Allows you to use your parallel port as a sound output device. Also serves as a tourial on writting a sound driver.
Long Description: Using simple hardware play sounds thru the ISA parallel port of any Intel computer. Could be converted for operation on Macs, but all Macs that support BeOS already have working sound cards.
This code creates a device driver that makes your parallel port look like a 8-bit sound card to the operating system. When finished there will be no diffirence to the OS between this and a regular output-only sound card. Timing problems still are causing problems with the sound quality, but the code does work. Will work side by side with any other sound card in your system, and lets you get sound if like me your laptop chip set is not supported.
Some hardware is needed ( a simple resistor network to make a DAC), all the needed info and diagrams are already included in the zip file.
