About RemoteSkins - iPod skin for CL-Amp:
A new iPod GUI for CL-Amp that runs in Firefox ! [using AJAX technology - a Python Servlet and an HTML/Javascript GUI that runs in Firefox and controls native BeOS apps!]
NOTE: This a stand-alone GUI running in Firefox, not a standard .wsz winamp skin. Please see the screen shots.
Using AJAX technology, this GUI can control (and monitor) most features of CL-Amp with a new iPod-style skin running in Firefox (locally or on a remote computer):
Featuring a selectable song list, volume control and 5 flavors of the iPod skin.
I hope this inspires others to create other Remote Skins for other native BeOS apps and BeOS command line programs.
How it works: A script written in Python acts as a small AJAX server. The html/Javascript GUI running in Firefox is the client. The GUI sends commands to the Python server which queries / commands clr which controls CL-Amp.
GUI open in Firefox <=> Python servlet <=> clr <=> CL-Amp
The GUI can also run on Firefox on any platform remotely (e.g. other Linux or Windows machines). Please see the README file included.
