About BFIV:
Big Image Viewer. View images too large to fit in ram.
Source for an image viewer that breaks image into manageable chunks. (ala photoshop) Meant to be an example for all the image viewers that assume you have a gigabyte of ram. (this one just assumes you have a gigabyte of disk space...)
