About ren:
Ren stands for "rename". It is the result of the attempt to bring familiar "ren" command to BeOS world. The key to Ren's power is regular expressions - it uses sed's syntax of regular expressions to match original file names and can extract parts of filenames.
Please use it with care and read Readme attentively! Ren CAN be harmful.
- rename single files or group of files;
- crawl recursively through directory tree;
- rename directories or files and directories simultaneously;
- change mime-type of the renamed files;
- renaming parts of filenames and their order.
