About RescanFonts:
This program performs the equivalent to clicking the 'Rescan' button in the Fonts preferences panel.
Why would you want to do this? Well, if you've got MS Windows installed on the same machine, you might've tried linking the Windows TrueType font folder (e.g.: /{your-windows-drive-name}/WINDOWS/FONTS) as /boot/home/config/fonts/ttfonts in the hopes of using those fonts in BeOS. However, the fonts aren't made available at startup, since the BeOS app_server starts up before foreign file systems have been mounted.
Solution? Add a line calling this program into your /boot/home/config/boot/UserBootscript file, and the next time you start up, those fonts will be made available automatically after a short delay (depending on how many fonts you've got, of course :-). You can also double-click or run this any time you want to recognize newly-installed fonts and don't want to make that trip over to the Fonts panel.

This is my first BeOS app. I've only tested it on my system, which is a Pentium II-based PC running R4.5.2. If it works on yours, please email me. I'm especially interested to know if it works on PowerPC and/or previous releases of BeOS.
