Here is a gift from FlipSide Software to you: The BeOS Community. We are open sourcing ReName! under the public domain licence. There are no real changes from 3.7 other than some header comments stating the licence terms. This by no means should be taken as a statement that we are discontinuing BeOS development. It's quite the contrary. We are focusing all are time on much cooler stuff, ReName! while very useful (in it's simplicity), was being neglected because of this. We release it in hopes someone might want to pick it up and improve it (we will still be makeing contributions from time to time as well). So here it is. Enjoy!

This release doesn't give alot of features, but represents
a complete rewrite of the code. This should allow me to add features more easily than before. The one thing users will get from this release is ReName! now remembers it's window location.

Added a wildcard feature for the basename. Asterisks (*) in the basename field will be replaced with the current basename. This allows for prepending and appending strings to the basename. If an asterik is used, ReName! will not append a number to to the basename.

Improved Capitialize Each Word Function. Uses a subset of non-alpha-numeric characters as word breaks. Correctly handles capitialization of Mc (e.g. mcdonald's -> McDonald's)

Boy did I screw up! Bugs fixed in this release:
Change the spelling of Replace (Replease? what was I thinking?!)
Fix Search & Replace to be disabled when box is not checked
Added mail links for your bug reports, feature requests and Letters of encouragement on the web site and in the documentation.
I encourage anyone that's download a previous version especially 3.0, to download ReName! 3.1.

Version 2.0 of ReName! features drag-n-drop! It functions similarly to Zip-O-Matic in so far as if you start ReName! without first selecting files, it allows you to drag the files you want to rename onto it, and then make the changes you want.
