Stupid stupid bugs. This is a very light fix. It fixes preference issues users that try Gim-ICQ for the first time have experienced. Gim-ICQ beta 24 did not create the files and directories it needed for preferences, but it should now. Please tell me if it does not work, and I will fix it as soon as possible.

- Updated version of libicq2000. Authorization is not broken
anymore.
- Improved chatwindow/historywindow opening.
- libicq2000 is not statically linked with gim anymore.
- If messaged from a contact that is not in the contact list, the
message window will pop up even if the the preferences is set not
to popup. This will only happen on the first message, not the
second, third etc while the window is open/not closed.
- Locking bug during closing gim is hopefully fixed.
- Preference crash bug probably fixed.
- Probably some other small fixes aswell.

Gim-ICQ now uses the libicq2000 and works with the "new" ICQ protocol. REMEMBER TO CHANGE THE ICQ SERVER HOST TO login.icq.com WITH PORT 5190, before you log in.

Authorization is currently broken, so if you get an authorize request from someone, you will not be able to authorize that person.

A big thanks to Rene Gollent for helping me with net_server specifics. How to work around the bugs, etc.

beta 22 icqlib
 License:   Freeware
 Updated:   September 17, 2001
 Source:   Source Available By Request
The constant disconnection days for Gim-ICQ is hopefully over. The worthless icq protocol implementation is removed and replaced to use icqlib. I hope this makes the client more stable, at least it has been for me.

The icqlib is included in the package, and comes with the source. I have been forced to change parts of the lib, to get it to work with net_server. Still there is no peer-to-peer tcp connections. Only udp is used, as before.

The icqlib currently listed here at bebits, does not work. It has bugs, thus you will need to use the lib that is included in this package.

This is the last version of Gim-ICQ I will put up. However... Anyone can get the source if they ask and then contribute with whatever they want. I then try to merge that into the codebase.

But do not worry. I have not stopped developing for BeOS. I am currently coding a new Instant Messenger for BeOS, so do not worry. Things will get better. :) (It will probably take some time before the new app will get released though)

Lots of bugfixes, since beta 7.
Some new features (Read the version history on the homepage for more info).

I need feedback for PPP connections, some seem to have trouble with a mysterious system freeze. Anybody that might have a clue is welcome to comment.

Woohoo... The sound is back. :)

- Now the window wont pop up. even if you have closed the window, when you reveive a message. Before the window always popped up even if you have configured it not to pop up. This configuration only worked when the window were hidden.
- To receieve notification about new messages, when in "replicant mode" with the popup disabled, the text of a user in the contact list is now red when a new message arrives.
- The sound has been added back. Recoded the whole sound section, cause the old version was buggy. Could not get the old version to work at all. This version work fine, for me at least.

- All the evil globals are gone, which makes it better as a replicant application now.
- A bug which could crash the application, when closing it, is fixed.

I have not had any trouble with this version as a replicant, but I suggest you use BackOnTrack or a similiar application, when using GimICQ as a replicant.

Eugenia Loli pointed out that GimICQ can crash the Tracker, so use GimICQ as a replicant on your own risk. Will be fixed soon, but not in this beta release.

The bug when GimICQ crashed, when logging out, seems to be fixed.
