Make sure you run these programs from a Terminal. Versions included are the current ones as of April 3 2001: SmJpeg version 0.2.1, Smpeg 0.4.2, Jpeg 6b.
If you would like to play automatically your mpeg files by double clicking them with 'plaympeg' without the use of a Terminal, please use this utility.
It is known that this mpeg player has better performance than the default included in the current BeOS Media Player (however, it could have been even better if someone could optimize SDL and add overlay support).
