This version adds support for the new ICH5 based i865 chipsets.
A bug with codec initialization has been fixed, and many more notebooks should now work.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to add SPDIF support or mixer controls.

A few Intel 845 (ICH4) related bugs fixed.

The ICH4 support in previous driver versions had a few bugs that prevented the driver from working with new motherboards that were using this latest Intel ICH4 chipsets. This has been fixed and tested, also this version is compiled without included debug information, so it should complete loading a few seconds earlier during startup. If you have problems, I can provide you with a version that includes debugging information. If you like this driver, please donate a few $ to make me happy :-)

VIA chipsets are not supported.
This version tries to enable an integrated amplifier in notebooks and laptops. If you still get no sound output, use the "email publisher" link and send me an email. The readme file describes which information you need to include. A file with debug information, called ich_ac97.log, is generated in your home folder on each startup. This driver also uses larger audio buffers, this should provider a better sound quality and use less CPU power.
