Bug 343987: Back-port gfx fixes to branch.
Upgrading is recommended.

Because of copyright and branding issues, the software calls itself "Bon Echo" and not Firefox. Be assured, however, this release is based on months of hard work, integrating trunk performance improvements to the official 2.0 branch code. Unfortunately, it seems several fixes simply didn't make it into the "official" 2.0 branch before it froze, like

359081 - [BeOS] iframe scrolling broken in 1.8 branch including Firefox 2.0
Also several other small bugs are fixed outside BeOS-only code areas.

Eep, been a while since I've updated the poor BeBits entry for Firebird. A lack of BeOS compatible computers and DONATIONS (=P) prevented me from doing *anything* BeOS based. Finally, I decided to do the impossible -- scoure the garage for the old BeOS PC from years gone past. After hours of searching and pain, the computer was uncovered and I am now using BeOS full time again (Linux doesn't even -compare-). This build is basically a vanilla build from the latest sources. I've been using it for about, err... 10 minutes, and it seems "nicer" than the old JetGFX version (although this version -apparently- isn't using JetGFX. I don't think JetGFX is in the official Mozilla source tree yet. But it's still nice, and if you really want JetGFX, well... you can download the old build from either here or here). New features include prettier buttons, a spiffy Firebird Options window, and an even spiffier About window (really, the upgrade is worth it for the non-horrid about window alone ;)). As far as *actual* features go, well... I'm sure you can find the changelog somewhere. =P Bandwidth issues should *not* be an issue this time (I'm posting it on Rodent Industries rather than BeZilla.org because I've lost the password since The Great Reformat and Paul hasn't E-Mailed it to me yet), but I suppose mirrors are always appreciated. Have fun!

What's this? Phoenix 0.5.5? But you said you wouldn't update Phoenix until the next version of Phoenix!
Well, fyysik made a TRULY AMAZING graphics engine replacement for Mozilla, which _REALLY_ makes Phoenix a LOT faster and makes it render sites that would render fine on Windows and Linux Mozilla, but wouldn't on BeOS Mozilla.
This version is probably very close to what the "0.6" version is going to be, so expect a new theme and new features when you download 0.5.5. :)
**IMPORTANT**
It is HIGHLY recommended that you delete your old Phoenix directory and profile. The profile directory of Phoenix is located in /boot/home/config/settings/Phoenix. Remember, once you delete this directory, your bookmarks and custom settings will be gone, so if you REALLY don't want to lose them, don't delete this directory.

The source changes are the same as those posted here, although some lines have been slightly shifted up or down a bit. Also, the source to fyysik's graphics engine is available here. This is still a work in progress, so the code isn't at tidy as it could be. ;)

At long last, Phoenix 0.5 is compiled for BeOS! This is a quick-and-dirty build with just one line of code modified (widget/src/beos/nsWindow.cpp - line 2921: aFlags = B_OUTLINE_RESIZE). I realize that many of you have been emailing me patches to Phoenix. I will apply them as soon as a new name is decided for on Phoenix and when it is released.
