This release (1.3) finally fixes the '-8' switch so that it fully handles binary files as well as text, and any byte-value from (octal) 00 to 377 can be used in search patterns. Two new template conditional elements have been added (see docs).
I haven't bothered to restore the PPC archive of 1.3 (January 2006). There is a 1.4 PPC release available, and it now seems solid (after several missteps!), so I hope there will be no need.
