QuickFox for BONE v3.0

If you're looking for the easiest way to get firefox up and running then QuickFox is for you. It comes preloaded with settings tweaks to increase the speed of loading the browser, tweaks that lower the loading times of web pages, and usage tweaks that optimize can make the browser efficient as possible. If you would rather have to manually install a plain firefox that is not optimized, then go to that bebits page.

There are some bugs with the firefox version that QF runs on . To fix to pages showing up blank after loading normally: pg up or down key . Sometimes this will not work, so resize the window from the bottom left grippy and then back to regular position and the loaded image/page will show.

If you're uploading something onto the web from with in QuickFox, after you've chosen the file and the path shows up in the field and you hit 'browse' again QuickFox will immediately terminate. This is a bug with Firefox itself and not my problem. To advert this, just delete the file path shown in the field before hitting the browse again before uploading.

Due to some bugs in the FF version I could not make QF as good as I wanted too, but I also wanted to get out a new version quickly since it has been a while !

You may notice the radical new single tool bar browse mode I have implemented. If you don't like it just uninstall QuickFox there is a uninstall option in the be Menu.

QuickFox for BONE v2.3

• New focus and interface: QuickFox is no longer setup automatically on boot and shutdown. I have been working on a manual approach. Composed of a text/x-script.xicon-bg file, which allows for Start, Quit, Full Save, and Normal Save.

In case you are wondering the difference between Full and Normal save, Full saves things like when you have removed a skin or plugin, or modified your MozillaFirefox directory. Normal save is what should normally be done, because it is the fastest and saves the usual things like your history, prefs and bookmarks.

• Access the Control Panel through file 'QuickFox Main' on the desktop and BeMenu.
• More emphasis on single window browsing: fine tuned prefs.js again
• New feature - eliminates install countdown delay for installing plugins.
• New Firefox version, 1.5 stable.
• New - bookmarks toolbar can be enabled and works, but you need to go into 'manage bookmarks' to edit/view them.

Version 2.3 Goal - download and try it. I want to get 500 downloads by the next version!

• Removed first-time pop-up notification nag.
  Click in the bottom right of FF window to allow popups from the website you
  want it on (near the resizer widget/grapple), because the popup icon is invisible.
• Fixed so images don't resize to fit in browser window.
