This is the current release of 0.9.7-branch of openssl. There is a newer branch available (0.9.8), but as many BeOS-software is built to use openssl-0.9.7, I suppose it makes more sense to stick with the 0.9.7-branch for now.
If you are interested in experimenting with newer releases, please contact me, as I can provide you with patches against those, too.
