Connectivity, ads, and e-commerce |

May 21, 2000:
You may have noticed that earler today (May 20th), we were having some connectivity problems. We just wanted to report that this was a network issue with our service provider, and has been taken care of. Also, we did quite a bit of site tweaking today, so you should notice that some parts of BeBits are quite a bit speedier than they used to be.
We're also quite happy to announce that BeBits is currently running our first set of "real" advertisements! You may have noticed occasional ads for the BeOS port of Civilization: Call to Power, which was done by Wildcard Design. This is a real milestone for everyone involved; we're really excited to be able to advertise real BeOS services instead of the more generic ads you've been seeing up to this point. If you haven't picked up your copy of Call to Power yet, when you see the ad, go for it. And if you'd like to advertise on BeBits as well, we'd love to hear from you!
Finally, some general updates: your loyal webmasters are now finally free for the summer! So, you should see quite a few enhancements and changes happen in the coming months as we tweak things and implement features that users have asked for. Also, the long awaited BeBits e-commerce services are just around the corner! Watch the site in the coming week or two for more details... and if you are a developer looking to sell your BeOS software online, drop us a note.
