Sounds Like you are installing to a UDMA 100 Drive. It really depends on which Icon the screen goes blank at.
First, you must make sure that all the hardware in you machine is BeOS compatible. (Note: you can check here (bebits), for drivers that are not in BeOS PE.)
If the problem is the UDMA 100 HD, then you need to use the new IDE driver found here (bebits), but it only works with the Promise Controller.
You can also check http://hardware.frizbe.net/ for specific hardware compatiblity, and Issues.

If you can get your hands on Personal Studio for BeOS, you can Render the DV Video back to the Camera. Just make sure the Camera is BeOS compatible.
(Send many emails to Adamation asking them to re-publish Personal Studio for BeOS. What do They have to Loose? The real question is what will they gain? They don't even need to box it. Just sell via the web.)
Second option, post a message on BeOS message boards for someone to sell you there copy.
Third Option, Since Scott Hacker, former BeOS Guru, has switched to MAC/WINDOWS Platform and given up BeOS. Ask him to sell you his copy. Heck, he probably got an unreleased version of Cinema 4D he might sell.

where does one get help for troubleshooting BeOS installs? Seems when I have the boot disk in it just shows the BeOS splash and then a black screen.

is there a way to print/render video back to DV camcorder from BeOS? Free tool would be better than commercial app.
