Man, am I the only one to point this out?
You can't use 2 or more mouse buttons at the same time! Excellent port, really, but please fix this:)

A short howto:

For people having problems (I was one :P) here it is.
If you are lucky? and have windows or dos you can just use your *.pak files from the other partition after installing it from your cd.
Here is the directory layout:
quake/
quake/quake (binary)
quake/id1 (MUST be lowercase!)
quake/id1/pak0.pak
quake/id1/pak1.pak (note both pak's are lowercase)

Howto install from retail quakecd in beos:
install dosbos
mount the quake cd and copy the files to a folder, like /boot/home/dos/TMP
run dosbox and issue these commands:
mount c /boot/home/dos
c:
cd tmp
deice
(it will run and prompt you with a default directory so just hit enter)
then you have to do this:
cd \
cd quake
resource
(and then wait... and wait...
you will know when it is finished when you get the 'C:' prompt again)
You can delete the 'TMP' folder, and the RESOURCE.EXE file.
Last you have to do as above -> make ID1 folder lowercase, and rename PAK0.pak to pak0.pak and PAK1.PAK to pak1.pak and put your beos quake binary in the quake/ directory (or whatever you called it)

there is nothing wrong with this to fix...

ok i was using the full version, and apparently it only wants to work with the shareware version.

also the gfx thing was just cuz of case sensetivity.

anyway this quake port doesn't seem to want to load any pak file other than pak0.pak (and to get the full version running u also need it to use pak1.pak)

so i pulled up a pak file opener in windows and combined the two so now i have the full version of quake in beos :)

Now if only it was GLQuake in 1280x1024 resolution i would be in frag heaven

dont work

I've got Quake 1-3 for the Macintosh operating systems but it would be nice to have the ports for BeOS 5 PPC also.
Thanks, Tony

This is an excellent port of one of the best games ever made. You get Quake and Quakeworld, and all the fun that goes with them. Not quite GLQuake, but who needs fancy graphics. Includes network support through Quakeworld, and that's what Quake is all about. In summary: This rocks!
