i like the save setting feature but i can't use it. Here when i save the setting, when i restart the app, the setting are what i choosen but the window size part is hardcoded. If i change the size it then show a white area if i expend the view area. Doing a new save setting don't change that. Other part like the searched volume work fine and can be changed even after a first save setting.

I've not used the app very heavily myself, but it does seem there's a couple of features that'd make it a bit more useful:
1. A more "Tracker-like" search results window. That is, configurable columns for things like name, attributes, size, and path to each file (very important!), click to change sort order, etc.
Double-clicking the pathname would open the folder which that file resides in (like the Tracker search window).
2. Ability to search on other attributes, not just name. Name is the most common, so should be the default. But sometimes I might want to search for all PDF files on the disk, or mp3 files by a certain artist, etc.
3. The search box could be more like a Web search engine, supporting wildcards, the OR operator, and the "" operator.
In other words, searching for:
"Be Book"
would show only files called "Be Book".
Searching for:
*"Be Book"*
would show all files with the phrase "Be Book" in their names, but with any prefix or suffix.
Searching for:
*"Be*Book"*
would show the following files:
Be Book
BeBook.html
BeOS Programming Book
Searching for:
Be Book
would show the following files (in the following order of importance):
Be Book
Be OS Programming Book
Book concerning Be OS programming
Searching for:
Be OR BeOS Book OR Books
would add the following files to the above results:
BeOS Book
BeOS Programming Book
Books about BeOS
Or something along those lines, anyway. That'd make the application much more useful, since it'd function in a similar manner to standard search engines, wouldn't have any problems with spaces in filenames (no need to escape them), etc.
I often can't remember whether a file has a prefix or suffix, or whether it uses spaces, underscores, or nothing at all to separate words; e.g. "BeBook", "Be_book", "Be Book", etc.
Maintaining performance is very important, even if it means avoiding adding certain features. At the moment, it's extremely fast; faster than Tracker's own search. That makes it extremely usable, but if it were to slow down significantly, it wouldn't be worth using it.
Ultimately, it'd be great to see "live search" like this implemented in Tracker itself. However, I think that should wait until Tracker gets a rewrite from the ground up -- there's far too many bugs and unnecessary features in the latest Tracker versions already, without adding more things to go wrong. =P

Hello,
I am not the original developer of this application, but I have been given the source and the go ahead to make changes if need be.
Any suggestions?
Also if there are any known bugs or if you feel the GUI needs improvement, let me know.

I've discovered this app recently, it's really too useful!
I don't give you a 10 cause it's not ever been updated.
I really wish that one day you can post a newer and polished version
