i can't give it a ten because it's kinda limited, by design. that said, it's very straightforward (soundplay's beos interface) and has a very small footprint, so you can easily daisychain multiple instances of the sampler to create full-on keymapped instruments. the obvious use would be as a drum machine, but if you put some time into sampling your pitched instruments at every third or so for relative consistency (that way your one second tone doesn't rumble and unravel over four or five seconds at a lower pitch) when you want it. since bexpand is beta, buggy and no longer in production, this is the best choice available by far for beos softsampler work.
