it's not what we diehard BeOS fans like to hear, but Sequitur was ported to Windows. Check out KVR... or just go to angryredplanet.com

source or SDK

Hi do you still want to release the source? I'd sure want to do some bugfixes cause there's not much else for BeOS, it could be Zeta's fault but I doubt if it applies for all the bugs, and I really wish to tackle that seed thing! Make a better quantisizer based on clever statistics etc.

Maybe some linux guys would like to port it and make improvements which could be backported, who knows!

I have to get some medications for better dealing with windows ; ) !

yeah it's really cool

Yeah guys, what's up with the updates, interested in mulitrack audio? I'd like that for sure, heck I'll even pay for it!

: )

Phenomenal

This program is amazing...it's complete, it's pretty, it's functional, and it's easy to understand! It's is by far the BEST piece of software I have used for the BeOS.

Fantastic, excellent!

I have played with Sequitur, composing short pieces, and am impressed with the GUI, though a few things puzzle me, like how to change the instrument for a track. I did figure it out after a while. Perhaps i should RTFM. Anyway, Sequitur provides an excellent way to experiment and refine compositions as well as just have fun.

One project i'd like to spend some time on, when i have less image processing to do, is interfacing it with my Roland XP50. Editing MIDI sequences on the XP50 is slow and tedious. If i could sling midi back and forth between the XP50 and Sequitur on my notebook machine, then... whoa! I'll be "having more fun than a Human should be allowed." ;-)

This is one of maybe four "Professional Feeling" apps ever for BeOS

Been wondering what Angry Red Planet is up to... any news?

The future for MIDI on BeOS look dark, as Serial MIDI Server does not work on Zeta/Dano. Without that, users who don't have a MO44 can't use Sequitur. That's a damn shame.

hooray! :)

Really glad to see this update on BeBits - I'd keen corresponding with Eric for a while regarding bugs/suggestions, and the fixes and improvements in this release address all of those and more....

One of those rare breed of developers who really listens to the user, keep it up!

BTW - the curve tools are really cool, I've been wanting something like this for some time, and here it is :)

Another Thanks for updating Sequitur

Havn't had a chance to try it out yet, but just wanted to say thanks for not giving up on BeOS and continuing to work on an app of rare quality. It's not just a decent sequencer but one that really demonstrates BeOS's strengths.

Hope you will consider contributing to OBOS if you haven't already!

Cool!

I would ask Eric but I went to the Angry Red Planet web site & found no contact... But silly me the cnotact link works on the Sequitur page. I will email him & see if he has any idea why this is happening now. But still if any one else has had this prob & fixed it I hope I can find how they did it. I feel I should almost toss the other card back in to see if its the card but it's packed away very far away & I'd rather not dig through my storage room to find it if I don't have to heh

easy does it foghorn leghorn.... [somebody help jess]

This is a cheesy attempt to keep this in the front page but any one with any knowledge about syncing outbaord gear with Sequitur please look over my last post on Sequitur & lt me know if you have any ideas as to why the outboard is allways getting data first & how to make the external gear & software sync up. Thanks

Ok... quite some time back I would have said I a master of this app... heh but sadly time has passed & the brian has lost mass & I'm here hoping I can get some help ;) I tossed my creative card for a Yamaha 724. I used to be able to sync my outbaord gear & Sequitur fine but now I'm having some probs & I'm not sure if it's the new card. The problem is simply the outboard gear is ALLWAYS one note ahead. It is perfectly out by one note. So if the quantize is 16th's its one 16th out. & so on. allways that ONE NOTE!! arg! one note what is the prob?! heh. If any one has a suggestion please feel free to post like mad. It is rare I get the notion to make music any more & it's rather disheartening to think for the last hour I've tried to fix this damn bug & not make music.
Viva La BeOS... I think...

a "tractor app" for the media os

the compatibility issues and dearth of developers notwithstanding, beos, what with its fab media kit, has many advantages over those Other operating systems, especially in the realm of digital audio production. nice guy eric hackborn took these advantages and ran with them, creating an idiosyncratic, but extremely powerful, midi sequencer that all the midihedz will love. sequitur's modular sequencing environment allows you to apply powerful, customizable tools and filters to midi tracks in series, parallel or recursively. if ultradetailed midi sequencing is your bread and butter or if you want to wring more functionality out of your synths (and beos softsynths, treated just like hardware!) than you ever thought probable, sequitur is so totally the app for you. it's a bit weird at first if you come from the logic/cubase/studiovision camp, but once you've gotten your head around it, you'll find that this is the best sequencer for midi power-users, hands down.
