Hey! What is that page doing alive. I was notified 3 years ago that my account were to be closed. I can not log in, but I'm grateful they are still hosting it.
Good to know. I'll add that link again, and remove the old one.
Anyone interested in hosting gim-icq? Not that I actually touch it anymore or anything.

Yes. It is a known bug, and I have fixed it aswell. I
have not gotten around to make a release of it though, since
I have planned to make other changes before that too.
However. You can find a "current" archive on beshare at the
tycomsystems server. I have only compiled a BONE binary, but
you can download the source and compile it for net_server
if needed.

My problem with GimICQ is that my chat-friends (chatting with Windows ICQ client) always get the message "No reason given" when they want to write me a message in ICQ. The message reaches me but they can't see what they have written and always get this weird message when they write me something....

Sorry about this beta 24 release, seems to be tons of preferences bugs. I will try to fix it as soon as possible.

Hi David,
I had the same problem as you (I actually had to wipe my old config to get GimICQ to work again after upgrading to the latest version), and I managed to solve it the following way:
For each user you want in your contact list, add a line of the following syntax to your
/boot/home/config/settings/GimICQ/user-xxxxxx (where xxxxxx is your ICQ#) file...
Oxxxxxx NickName
...i.e. the letter "O" and the ICQ#, followed by a tab and the NickName of the user. Please note you can change the nickname to whatever you want (heh, "Rename user" is something I've missed in GimICQ for ages!).
To the devs: Keep up the good work! :D ...if possible, please add support for .clb (UINBackup.clb) files, which would make it possible to import/export UINs from/to Windows etc. Email me if you want to know what it looks like! =)

Alright, Gim-ICQ is probably good and everything but not for me. I can login-in but I can't add new users. I type in the UIN in find user box and it starts searching but never finds anything and never stops searching. I've tried it with different UIN's.
This must defenetly be worked on.

The version that is uploaded on GimICQ's official website works in Dano/BONE, perfectly.

Seems on BONE (Maui or Dano) Gim-ICQ does not connect. Filling in name/password at login prompt does nothing; login prompt appears again immediately.

I am getting plenty of those "feeeuuwwww" sounds. What do they mean ?
Otherwise, I'm a very happy Gim-ICQ user ;-)
Thanks...

I think that Gim-ICQ is the better be soft for using ICQ. If you have already an icq account on other OS, you
must download and use it.

Unable to get my Gim-ICQ beta 2 version to even log in to the ICQ server. Continually reads, "Logging in..." and eventually returns to the username/password screen. Gim-ICQ, functioned adequately.

I have an earlier version of GimICQ that runs adequately.
This version segfaults every time.
