Hello.. I just found these talkbacks so I'm sorry about taking so long to reply to them.
The source code for Peek is included in the zip file that you can download. So everyone should already have it. It's released under a bsd-like license so you can do whatever you want with it.
My source code is probably messy and incorrect since Peek was coded back in my early C++ days. I haven't worked on it in over 2 years now. There is a lot I would change in order to make it more correct.
My email address should work, I don't know why it didn't work. clutter at djm dot co dot za ... or peek at djm dot co dot za. Alternatively, I have comment fields and a guestbook on my webpage which will definitely work.

I have source code for older version, IIRC.
Tried to contact author several times, but all my mails bounced from that South African address:(
Though, there is one problem in this app, related to BeOS itself.
BeOS returns directory listing sorted by time (creation or modification, don't recall at moment), not in alphabetical order.
So, image list looks sometimes unpredictable as result, instead to be in most required alphabetical order.
I think OBOS needs to do addition to BeOS API, to allow to get list of folder content sorted by any required field.
In BeAndSee i workarouded it by post-sorting in ListVIew, but it isn't most effective way.

I tested many image viewers, but none of them offered all the features I want. I think this app should be the replacement of ShowImage under OpenBeOS. Is there any chance to publish the source code?
As usual, one thing is missing ;) There should be a hot-key to go to the previous image, e.g. "b" as used by many command-line applications.
