Despite that other people seem to be getting controllers to work, my machine (with BeOS Max V3.0)using the Joystick calibration tool doesn't seem to detect any controller plugged into any of the serial ports, but yet in Dial Up Networking, it will detect a modem plugged into the same serial port. What's my problem? Is this a hardware issue?

same bug as eredev. The logitec wingman worked perfectly when set as a generic USB. both analog stick, the slider and the 9 button (can't say about the rumble feature).
So i need to keep the calibration window open to have it working.
Also it would be cool to be able to use old sound card port like before, at the same time as the USB one.

When i reboot my PC and run testjoy it works correctly but when i close testjoy and try to rerun testjoy it doesnt work. I've tried to debug the driver but the correct events are fireing. Not to sure what the problem is. I'm using an intel BX motherboard.

Adding support for this joystick:
Open driver.c
change
#define USB_VID_MICROSOFT 0x045e
to
#define USB_VID_MICROSOFT 0x1133
then save file.
Open a terminal and go to drivers directory and type:
make; make install
rescan usb_joy
calibrate and play! :)
I sent an email to the author about this, and hopefully he will add support for this joystick.
(This may also work for other unsupported logitech joysticks)

What I find strange is this:
I have a Dell desktop, a Dell laptop and a Compaq desktop. All running BeOS, of course. According to the BeOS' device thing, all 3 computers are running identical USB hardware, right down to addresses. My USB joypad doesn't work on either of the desktops, but works great on the laptop (this driver rules).
I know the USB is working on the two desktops, because I've used both of them to transfer files via USB from my digital camera.
How confusing.

This site is BeOS only. If you want to try BeOS, look here:
