The notes i wrote in the Ruby Garden wiki seem to have vaporized or become bashful. at least tonight, the whole Ruby Garden site is acting flaky. So here is a google cache capture of most of that page, posted to my personal site:

I have successfully compiled and ran ruby 1.8.2 on my R5+BONE machine. THis took a couple small hacks. Put notes on RubyGarden wiki, if anyone is interested. Busy-ness keeps from making a nice package to upload. someday...

I really enjoy the Ruby language and I feel that it has a potential future with BeOS/Haiku. I am attempting to port the most recent version (as of 3-1-2005) to be used in the Ruby coding contest going on. If you wish to help out in the porting process, contact me at allenb [at] ieee.REMOVETHISTEXT.org

...build...
Looks like not too many people are using it on BeOS. Or at least not enough to justify a port. :( Too bad, great language.
