I want to make an MP3 file but after selecting
convert, it reports conversion completed.
But I only makes an MP3 file of 0 bytes.
Any suggestion?

? Huh, is Ogg part of the system? I could imagine mp3 being only in the R5 Pro version...?

Why is not supported the GetParameterView function of the encoder API.

How to make codecs way is still secret by Be Inc's NDA.
If I knew it, I might could make system codes based on another open non-system codes.

...but isn'there a way to get that possibility from HandBrake-codec to a system-codec?

This app uses the Be System Codecs to do its encoding. HandBrake uses its own codecs system. Thats why

Hi! Thanx for this great app! It works good on my AMD Athlon-machine. The only thing I don't understand: Why isn't the avi-sound compressible and why can HandBrake do this? HandBrake converts from DVD into Mpeg4 and MP3 easily. It's just a question- I'm a simple User -no developer... ;-)

Of course it works on the Athlon, but AMD processors don't always work with BeOS in the first place.
Also intel "helped" in the porting of BeOS to x86 so its sorta called BeOS/Intel in their honour
I chucked my last AMD powered heap of junk last week....

I was just wondering why this if for intel only.
Does it work with Athlon?

Actually, after using it for a while, I noticed there seems to be a problem with the priority selection. Though I can select anything between Low and Realtime, no matter what I select, the actual priority of the "converter thread" is always Normal. That is the thread that uses most of the CPU when running, and is the thread that I set to Low in my short-lived version MediaConverter++. Changing the priority setting in the application does not appear to change the actual priority of any thread.

Thanks for updating the app, and taking my suggestion of a lower priority (although even better that you made it an option!)
Some of the new features in MC+ make it a killer app in my opionion... now, the priority can be changed (from anything between Low and Realtime!), the quality of video and audio can be changed, and equally important, you can now view file details of any file you are going to convert, and preview it!
Thanks very much Jun!

Wasn't too hard to port to PPC, either. :-) I have emailed the author to see if he wants to post it here. If not, and assuming no objections, I will see about setting up a BeBits page to post it (and other goodies).
