Too bad the MIDI In/Out didn't produce anything, love to try that! Looks very promising!

But the funky tempo/stretch/reverse are gone/different, loved those! : /

Aha!

as you see, there's a possibility to add the notes by keyboard.

I don't understand what you mean but I would like to also *close* the pianoroll after using.

Havening XRS listen to MIDI would also be great!

Not only the piano roll.

I'm always happy to hear suggestions and ideas!

Here what I think:

1) Extended Export to Wave:
3 soluions:
- long term: XRS should have an events
timeline and the user should be alble to edit
and record Controls Changes.
When you export every think is repeated
and synched with the wave file.
(like all the pro-apps do)
- quite short term: writing a simple VST in order
to 'always' export.
- very very short term: set up the mixer
and SoundRecorder in order to record
everythings your soundcard is playing. :)

2) track-shift: understood, cool idea.

3) Xrs 1.4 (coming soon or later) got 4 fx
lines and a master line.

Hey guys! send me your audio works :) I really enjoy them :)

More and more keeps coming when I'm playing!

More FX-lines! Please, that'll be rightious! I'll send you some tracks when I've finished them!

xED And something more :)

Oh if you could imlement a 'track-shift' I mean by this that sometimes I have accidentally a very good loop in the 16 bars *but* it 'starts' for your ears that is, somehwere in the middle but *not* at the start, so when you press play the track starts at the beginning which I would like to shift because for my 'ears' the track should begin somewhere else, shifted a couple of bars/numbers.

Well, I won't be suprised if you don't understand me at all here, so maybe meet on beshare?? If you mail me when...

Export to WAVE

Hi, that Export to WAVE, what would be incredibly cool would be a sort of automation, mix the song down to WAVE, just what is heard over de speakers while the songs is being played, I use a lot of VST plugins which work excellently, much better than in Soundplay, and if it gets exported to WAV I don't get realtime FX changes/ knob fiddeling into the song, right?

Also the annoying "close song unsaved?" when I didn't change anything, eg the default song when I want to open one of my own, that'll be a nice fix :)

mail me at balgehakt adthatfunnylookingatsign wolke7 adothere net if you wish

Nice work!

Andrea, could be female ;^) (?)

Anyway, XRS is super, especially the vst-interface is better than soundplay's, sorry Marco, it's true! Just try to unload some of the omhforce plugins after you have tried a couple of sfx settings aka programs, especially good too be heard in ohmboyz and mobilohm.

But what is annoying is that XRS's mediabrowser doesn't play longer samples, too bad.

Yeah, 3Dmix also doesn't load anything other than wav, still it rocks.
3Dmix would be an awesome surround mixer though! How about that?

Well, why I really said that was because I find XRS so cool I think for some feautures you could ask for money.

For annoying bugs; how's this one; I use FFM and when I drag samples from the mediabrowser sometimes a plugin -(window) from Ohmforce will catch my mouse on a control and I'm stuck fidelling a knob instead of dragging the sample to the XRS sampler.

After playing a lot with XRS lately, I have found that I can actually do some tracking ( In a different kind of way :) I've got a couple of requests if it may be done :
1. When entering in paino roll view, can you allow for the same sample to be played more than once per track, i.e creating a chord for a piano?
2. Allow for length of sample to be played? When entering a sample and playing the same sample at a higher pitch, it simply cuts off the previous sample, guess that actually ties in together with the first one.
3. Allow more samples to be added. This seems not be a program issue but a viewing issue. When adding a whole lot of samples, the slider doesn't go down anymore. So I have to move the whole screen up and resize the form to be longer to add more samples. Hope this makes sense.

If you got any info don't hesitate to mail me at emilek at fnv dot co dot za .

Thanks for your great program! The more I play with it the more I like it!

XRS 1.3 WOW!
Thank you very much for this *little* app Andrea. The only thing that I can complain about is the GUI, it needs to be cleaned up, but over all the application is a 10/10 and its probably worth plenty if it was written for Windows.

Nice work with the VSTi, I like that alot.
The new mixer is also welcomed. What we have here ( after a clean up of the GUI ) Is one hell of a DrumMachine/Softsynth. Good Work!, Thanks!
/Konrad

plugging xrs's midi out into other synths and devices does have it's advantages!

xrs has just exploded. there are so many mammoth new features, i don't know where to begin. the most obviously great new feature is the "mda jx10" synth, a great analogue emulator with multiple patches and all the usual sound parameters you'd expect in a synth (a slider interface not unlike objektsynth 2's modules). like the tn306 before it, it sounds fantastic and is wonderful to tweak in real time (i've been playing into the mac all night to create samples). secondly, you can daisy chain VST plugins on an FX channel, and in addition to the two VST channels, there's now a third, "global" VST FX channel as well. you can now pitch-shift your samples and apply gain to them individually and on the fly. lastly, the interface is much cleaner and a bit easier on the eyes. i haven't had a chane to play with the midi out plugin, but i'll say this - it *looks* like andrea could be very close to making this a softsampler - that may not be in the plans, but if he can make XRS receive midi messages from sequitur, musicweaver et cetera (or any VST-capable host, like logic or cubase), this app will crush you. andrea, you're so close now, please consider this possibility!

lastly, i have one user interface-related suggestion - you may want to provide additional ways to change parameters, such as "stretch" or even tempo. the sliders and "one at a time" buttins are nice, but it's be better to be able to type the values in the field and/or click and drag over the parameter, as you would a tn306 knob. just a though. very, very well done, andrea!

This is by far the best piece of work Andrea has done so far. I received the same error on one of my machines (P200mmx 64 MB Ram running BeOS 5, no updates).

It ran perfectly on my main machine (533 AMD 256 MB Ram running BeOS 5.0.3 and Dano. I'm not sure if this is a media kit issue or a memory issue.
What type of system are you running?
