same crash under BONE

as under Zeta. This seems more related to a problem with my hardware. I used the program under both BONE and Zeta without trouble. When I upgraded (new mobo is nVidia nForce4, new CPU is Athlon64x2/4200+) the troubles began. I hope this helps.

Ok, i'll check for the crash again.

Should not be a memory leak, but a variable with index too low.

For the PPC port, i'll contact you by e-mail and see what we can do.

Current version when comment was posted: 2.0 Beta 2
Hi there! I had the same problem, with the start up crashing, and resolved it with the author. I'm not saying that it's the problem you have, but you could try the following (in the words of the author):

Please try the following:

Start a terminal and type the following:

cd /boot/home/config/settings/BePC-Info2/config

then press Enter, you'll then be in the config folder of my app.

type the following:

StyledEdit panel.cfg

and press Enter, so you'll open the config file that chooses which panel open when
the program starts.

It will shou you a number:

11 is CPU General Details
12 is CPU Standard Ext
13 is CPU Extended Ext
14 is CPU Cache Info
15 is CPU Advanced Info
21 is System Details
22 is System FileSystems
31 is Resources Details
41 is Fixed Disks
42 is Other Disks
51 is ISA Devices Details
52 is PCI Devices Details
71 is Encoding Codecs
72 is Decoding Codecs

Please report to me what's the number you see.

Try to change the number you found with any of the others of the above list.

Start again the program and see if it works.

The Benchmark section was removed some months ago, mainly for problems with multi processor PCs, so what are you using for benchmarking?

In any casa, the P4 1700 IS SLOWER than the Athlon 1500 in unoptimized calculations (standard and floating).

Highly innacurate "Benchmark" results
 By MYOB - Posted on January 31, 2004 - 05:48:19   (#10859)
Current version when comment was posted: 2.0 Alpha 11
The "Benchmark" results in this application are highly innacurate, and seem to suggest that my 1.7Ghz P4 is slower than sub-1.5Ghz AMD kit. As AMD kit runs terribly under BeOS, this suggests that the results included in the application are entirely wrong.

Good Job

If you are interested, please let me know, i would really appreciate some help.

Very nice app, however I found the benchmark stuff was not working for me... I'll email you my information.
I'm also wondering why my CPU does not have extended MMX (it's a P3), is that true?

Temps are not so easy to implement,
i'm doing a list of features to implement in BePCInfo
2.0, temps are in it.

Nice but how how about temp
 By JJ - Posted on December 8, 2002 - 22:53:03   (#4665)

I wish the CPU temp could be displayed, I know thats a very chipset specific deal, but so far I never seen a BeOS tool that could read it, ofcourse that should be a Deskbar item.

okay it works cool, but...

yeah package file no longer corrupted! but... I would ask how come you cannot specify an installation folder for this app? Is this how it has to be? Not everyone installs apps under /boot/apps/ - I like to have them under my /home/_apps/ directory. Minor gripe anywayz - dead cool apart from that.

Re-Uploaded package and verified, now works, sorry for the trouble.
