Does it load large samples as well?
I love the VST plugin idea of SampleStudio but SS is so buggy, on the 2 BeOS install I have (BeOS online 1.1 and Pohs Beta 6) it's hardly useable, crashes very quickly.

Nice tool for digitizing my open reel tapes.
The only BEOS tool I found usable so far.
I only use the Recording part of the application.
Gertjan van Ratingen, the developer of BamBam is working on another app called Pebbles, which is very good news.
Here is my wishlist:
1. Recording Pause.
2. Recording time in HH:MM:SS
3. Overwriting of recorded file warning.
4. Being able to record from more than a single sound card at the same time. I would like to digitize 4 tracks of audio, using two sound cards currently installed on the system.
Thanks for a great tool.

Clean, simple and efficient. Everything there that is there works well, with one exception: lowering the sample rate, when lowering the sample rate to anything other than 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 and so on, the result is you get the lower sample rate but a lot of "clicking" is introduced as well. This is not a problem when upsampling. Other downfalls were the absence of an undo function (you'l have to learn to save everytime before you change something so you can go back, this shouldn't be too hard :-)) and that I could only get one instance of the program to run at a time. All in all a program that I can reccomend espescially if you are wanting to record to RAM and do some simple cut, paste, and volume changes to your tunes quickly.

In a word: "wow!"
That was my experience with BamBam about 3 months ago when I first had the joy of downloading it for R4.5.2. This small util is even more fun to use.
Best of all, it's elegantly designed, with the utilitarian in mind. There is no bloated interface here, just pure audio recording functionality. And this it does nicely.
With three different signal level views to chose from, the fun can last forever! I found myself glued to my tube like it was some sort of neo-lava lamp.
Another cool feature is the dual recording methods. The first is a record-to-RAM setting; the second is recording directly to a file. This can be immensely handy depending on what kind of samples you're making.
Well, time to crank up the Futurama tapes. I'm making waves tonight!
