it was not deleting tab at all. But it seem i forgot to delete the old dir so it probably conflicted in loading some module. Reinstalled proprely (made a computer reboot also just in case it was other source) work fine now so far.

Found another script-related bug which is fixed in very latest tree but wasn't in my 2005-10-26-05 build.
So fixed it and uploaded new versions under same link
seamonkey-1.1a.en-US.beos-bone-2-i586.tar.gz
and
seamonkey-1.1a.en-US.beos-netserver-2-i586.tar.gz

So if you met menu-problems, just re-download.

One thing I noticed about the last version of seamonkey bone (DnD+IME) was that I was able to make just one mail filter. If I restarted seamonkey it was still there in the Message Filters window. If I tried to make anymore they were not remembered.
So it seems there is only a limit of one filter. I don't know if any work has been done on mail filters but before none were remembered.
Anoter thing I noticed with Firefox Deerpark 1.6a1 2005/10/02 is that if I have "Begin finding when you begin typing" ticked in the options, even as I am typing into this text box here for this feedback message the text for finding box at the bottom of the browser window will popup steal focus away from the box I want to type in and the letters start appearing in the text for finding box. To continue typing I have to untick "Begin finding when you begin typing" box. Is this a bug that has alredy been registered?

It is. Partially. For all platforms at trunk.
So ChatZilla and Thunderbird as result.
It was attempt to add more speed to JavaScript code loading etc, big code change with sad result.

Mozilla.org people are aware of that regression.
But what to do here, i didn't decide yet - trying to use
sources before Oct. 20, applying manually important BeOS patches, or wait for common fix.

I use this tip/tweak to start QuickFox without the script (and therefor faster start time) but I havent yet found a way for this to work with modern mozilla, even though sometimes within QuickFox if I hit an email link the mozilla splash screen comes up but then nothing else happens.

We have tried to convince the owners of the old BeBits pages to remove them, but not been able to. The only reason we don't have a seperate 'Firefox' page is that it's already taken.

It's frustrating especially when you get complaint on old broken builds.

I tried OpenBFS Beta 6 on release day. But OpenBFS still got the VNODE problem, so I removed it and put the originals back on my system. I'm using original BFS and chkbfs for a long time now. I installed and used 1.4 and 1.5b after the restoration of my BFS.

Could it be OpenBFS?
 By mmlr - Posted on September 28, 2003 - 21:09:46   (#8951)
Current version when comment was posted: 1.4
I had the quite same problem (lately modified cpp's got truncated or emptied at all! Sometimes it even rendered my system unbootable). CheckBFS fixed the problem then and a few days after it happened again. But this problem wasn't related to BeZilla, but to the OpenBFS Beta 6 installation I recently did. Uninstalling OpenBFS failed, the R5 BFS addon wasn't able to read my disk anymore. I then made a new installation, mounted my old disk and saved what was left of my data.

So, to the two that have reported filesystem corruption: Are you using OpenBFS? Moving large files or unpacking a big amount of data triggered this corruption in my case, and since BeZilla isn't that small it could for sure have triggered it in your cases.

FileSystem corruption on my BeOS, too

I had the same problems with Bezilla 1.4 as hardedged. So I stopped using 1.4 and the problems disappeared. Now I installed and used 1.5b and again: a lot of files get damaged, usually the files that I used/modified before, (e. g. My cpp-files suddenly get filled with KERN messages and unreadable characters). Chkbfs outputs thing like "xyz has blocks already set".

I'm not sure if this is Bezilla's fault, it just looks like it is.

Have you filed a bug in bugzilla.mozilla.org?
What are the steps needed to reproduce this problem?

Filesystem corruption
 By hardedged - Posted on July 3, 2003 - 17:28:36   (#7998)
Current version when comment was posted: 1.4
I used and tested Mozilla 1.4 release, and also noticed the bookmarks problem. However there is a FAR WORSE problem that I cannot believe is in a 'release'. Using Mozilla 1.4 for beos results in filesystem corruption. This is bad, very VERY BAD. You can fix it with CheckBFS, but you are still left with corrupted files.

It appears to be a memory leak, because the only files that get corrupted are not just the ones Mozilla deals with itself (like downloads) but more often any files that are being written to or read with ANY program running during (and after?) Mozilla 1.4 is being run (it is in memory). This can be easily duplicated by copying or moving large files, or a large number of files, around your hard drive while Mozilla 1.4 is running. This is NOT a Tracker problem. Deleting Mozilla 1.4 and fixing the befs partitions affected with CheckBFS will fix the problem, and it won't occur anymore. I am back to using Firebird 0.6 because of this. WTF? This is supposed to be a release... one has to wonder if it also affects the Netscape release based on the same codebase, or did aol use a pre-1.4 release codebase.

I have reports this is not just a BeOS issue. This problem occurs on windows NT 4 and probably others.

Thanks for all the nice comments, the BeZilla team appreciates it!

As for closing, it is a known issue, and I have plans for fixing it. Some re-working needs to be done to accomplish some other tasks, and by doing that, this should be fixed as well.

As for mirrors, well, AFAIK, they are not needed, since mozilla.org has a fairly big fat pipe, and that's where you would be downloading from.

Closing Mozilla

Mozilla does not close automatically on shutdown and "Close All" in Mozilla's deskbar tab does not work either.

I think the reason is, that this is a BeOS specific issue and needs some implementation. Are there plans to add this in future versions?

First, if you are having problems with the mozilla port to BeOS, please, post to the forums at bezilla.org, and *NOT* here. This is the first time I have checked the comments in over a month, so, as you can see, you will not get immediate responses from here, though, I do regulary monitor bezilla.org. Now, onto the responses:

"bug, bug, bug, and still no printing"
That is a known bug in mozilla. I bet you are running a nightly build, which, btw, is not guaranteed to work. This problem does not happen, that I know of, in the 1.3 release.
The mozilla printing interface makes it really hard to implement printing under BeOS. There is an open bug for it at bugzilla. If you want it fixed, you can vote for the bug, and, maybe, if enough people do so, the mozilla devs will start helping. Plus, I have never written ANY printing code under BeOS, and have NO idea how to do it. If you do, and want to help, let me know.

"Official 1.2.1"
I don't think I made a 1.2.1 release. So, use 1.3 instead :-)

"Missing Caret"
There is a patch for this "problem" in bugzilla. I am in the process of reviewing/submitting it to CVS. It should, at a minimum, be fixed by the 1.4 release.

"Remember Download Location"
There is a patch for this as well, but, whenever I try to use it, mozilla crashes my entire system. It does not even take me to KDL. This also happens on both of my dev machines. Hopefully, we will have that submitted to CVS soon.

Thank you to everyone else who has offered kind words of support. It is truly appreciated.

-paul

but problem is that mozilla crashes with this patch on Paul's machine (not on mine).
If you wish to try Mozilla with this patch - choose any build from StripZilla page:

e.g. build for netserver - http://bebits.com/bob/14386/JustBrowser-netserver-JetGfx2-20030215.zip

Two questions:
 By Prognathous - Posted on March 11, 2003 - 14:59:38   (#6348)

1. Is there an official Bezilla v1.2.1?

2. Am I the only one who still sees the missing-caret problem? I couldn't find any related bug on bugzilla.mozilla.org (except for some very old, closed bugs)

Thanks,
