Peter,
Its been a pleasure. Hope to see you around the net, if you're in the UK let me and David know, and I'll let you know if I ever get to Oz - I owe you a beer or ten!
All the best

Its impossible to abandon BeOS - I've tried, and cant. Like Scott Hacker once said - BeOS is like a drug, once you're hooked, you cant get out easily since you always get withdrawal syndroms.
Mark my words, he'll be back. They all do...
Cheers Peter.

Peter Moore, it's so sad to hear that we are losing you. You have contributed so many useful programs to our favourite operating system. I hope you consider continuing, but if you don't, I hope you come back later on.

hey guys and girls.....i dont want to bang my head against the open-source world anymore and so i hereby announce that am not going to develop or release any more software for BeOS.
I've been pressured to release certain things...but i have always tried to release things when i thought that it was working ok.
So now that the pressure is well and truly on...go for it...the source is out there.
Go forth and sourcify.
good luck
cheers

will be delayed. This because i have to reinstall Sybase ASE 11.9.2 on my Linux server since i upgraded to Mandrake 9.1. As Mandrake 9.2 is about to be released to the general public i won't be installing it until after i ugrade to 9.2.
Then i can:
1) install Sybase,
2) create the snort database,
3) see what has changed in the snort database plugin between version 1.8.x and 2.x so i can then add in my Sybase specific mods.
cheers

i get a lot of people downloading "standard" snort from overseas countries when perhaps they wanted the PostgreSQL version or the new Sybase/Microsoft SQL Server version.
I'm going to look into some sort of language enhancements that i might be able to include in the descriptions.
Watch this space.

Almost 'internet' apps posted on bebits require bone, so in this case are ONLY for Be registred devs... To summarize, legally, Be 'new features/evolution/update' are actually closed to this people... (no bad feeling in this word, it's just the fault of the current state of Beos).
btw you right.... ;-)

To answer your question, i asked Be if i could release software "compiled for BONE" and they said yes, as long as i didn't release any BONE source.
At least BONE was released officially to beta testers whereas the Dan0 release was not exactly legally released to anyone.
And those that know, know what i mean.

is not more official, isn't it ? People with Bone (it's bad) are not so far away than ones with 5.1/dano (it's worse) ! ;-)
