Some sites are too agressive, or maybe it is related to unfinished/delayed page downloads, or maybe it is related to recent lawyers war (mostly against MS) about plugins and embedding - but your approach don't help in that cases. And in lot of cases it is even plugin0unrelated, like with those cgi-bin things, i think.
And this is was rather joke, real solution is to have in browser settings for mime-types and handlers 4-th option - "Ignore".
And please don't tell me fairy tales about QuickFox.
Being Bezilla developer, I understand quite well, what is it.
You can help BeOS/Haiki much more with learning C++ or
even with Mozilla learning JavaScript at good level

Easily and all other 'plugin nags' . I have done it a long time ago with my excellent browser quickfox. www.bebits.com/app/4222 . The prefs.js entry is this:
user_pref("plugin.default_plugin_disabled", false);
Im posting it here because I don't have an account for the blog. If maybe more people used quickfox, they would be better off because they would actually enjoy using it!

Although I applaud the author's earlier efforts, it looks like this program has been languishing for a while now. Where's v3.0? I'm convinced that nothing could be doing even less, and more efficiently too. I think the goal for the next version should be that the binary not exceed the size of the ELF header itself.

The new version of 'nothing' does an amazing job of what it was designed for. The provided code is simple and concice and does run in a very short amount of time, irreguardles, I do have one reservation about the application, it's bloated.
C'mon almost Six KiloBytes? I mean, yea disk space is cheap, but I can only fit about 1,666,666,666 copies of it on my 10 Gigabyte applications partition!
I'm sure that Mathias can come up with something smaller and less bloated.
Good app, but I'm waiting for 2.1 before I settle on it as my app to do nothing with.

I downloaded "nothing", and it was everything I thought it could be! Not only is the application simple and elegent to use, but I found the code to be just as beautiful.
This application will be a continual inspiration and model for my own lesser coding efforts, both in user interaction and implementation. Mathias should receive major kudos for providing "nothing" to the Be community, and putting in the obvious amount of time needed to write it, especially in this time when the future of BeOS is so uncertain. If only there were more application of this quality available for BeOS, there's no way Microsoft could beat it!
