I would love to make replitxt more customisable and I would especially like to improve the transparency handling. I will have to brush up on the BMessage API as well so that the 'hey' tool could be used with it as well.
I have been thinking about the IM Kit as well, but I was wondering whether I should make People.iro be able to generate colour icons from the command line...

Replitext is the coolest sticky note app we have! It would be nice to see some ties to queries or CLI for sure. Hell it could be a nice thing to tie to the IM Kit, have a sticky that says "Contact Tom about the meeting on Tuesday" then have it ding or change color when Tom comes online, there is a sticky tied to a query to a CLI command if a condition is met, that's some seriously cool stuff from a functionality perspective!

:) I am glad that someone is still using replitxt! I haven't programmed for BeOS for a while now and I am hovering on the edge of the BeOS/Haiku/Zeta trilogo so I cannot make any promises, but I will try and add those features sometime "soon"...

Hi rob, I have re-discovered your app some time ago, not only to stick some notes,but also for other purposes, for example, through a bash script I throw a query to seek new mail on my system, and towards to the replicant I send the name of the sender and the subject of the message
( ***Jane Doe has send you this message: I LUV U****), obviously this is made cyclically for all messages found from the query.
I would find very useful if replitxt was able to change, through CLI, the background color and its alpha value, the foreground color and font size, ( I like to use dark images as Desktop background, but in this case the replicant text is not much readable), besides has been very useful to be able to write on more lines.

you can edit existing replitxt replicants but unfortunately only from the Terminal...

i love transparency.
it looks beautiful on beos.
and this is the ultimate post it note app.
if the text was configurable it would be so perfect i would
probably have to yelp out loud.
