I found out that someone did port this back to Linux. Last I heard it was included by default with Debian.

A person named Florian Ehinger emailed me asking whether a version of this is available on Linux. My reply from my yahoo.com email account was refused by a kflog.org mail server as being from a spammer! Since I have no other way of replying, I am posting here.

Flo,
Thanks for your interest. To my knowledge, no work has been done on porting XGalaga: Hyperspace
back to Linux. I had some communication with Joe Rumsey, the original programmer, in which he
said the game sounded like fun and would love to play it. He said that if I knew of a port back
to Linux to let him know. If you do work on it, please let me know and I'll let him know. We
could cross link from each other's versions--mine on BeBits and yours on Freshmeat or whatever--if
you do it.
If you do, here is what I would recommend. The changes we made were made by downloading the
source to the XGalaga port to Be and then making changes. You could do a diff between the
XGalaga: Hyperspace code and the original code for Be, and that would give you a nice concise list
of code to add to the latest Linux version.
I'm sorry, I just reread your message and realized that I jumped to the conclusion that you are
interested in porting it back to Linux. [insert chagrined look here] Are you?

P.S. Since our last communication didn't work, try emailing me at [myfirstname] at [mylastname] dot net. If that doesn't work either we can just communicate here. :-)
