Thank you Serpentor for mentioning the last version of the driver (which isn't mentioned elsewhere): http://www.kabunkie.de/BeOS/software/PegasusV0.0.1b.zip . With this version, I was finally able to get my SMC 2202 USB/ETH adapter working! And many thanks to Oliver for creating this awesome driver!!

I should add that I am running BeOS PE5.03, booted from Win98SE. My system is an i-opener with a 200mhz winchip and 62mb of ram. I am not running BONE - it hangs my system. Alas, this probably means wireless is out of the question.

The Pegasus 0.0.1b driver gets my i-opener on the network, with manually configured ip. Make sure loopback is not checked. Now to try with the 802.11b...

Hombre,
I have a 3COM USB ethernet adapter hooked up to my I-Opener (with BeOS) and it works fine. My adapter may be an older model so the device ID is good. Your adapter may be newer and the driver can't find the device ID. I would suggest you try the newer version of the driver at http://www.kabunkie.de/BeOS/software/PegasusV0.0.1b.zip. This appears to be an updated version of the driver but Oliver never posted it to BeBits. It may have your device ID in it and may allow it to work. BTW, on my system, I use DHCP to get all of the DNS info but my IP is usually 0.0.0.243 so I go back and change it to static IP and just put in an IP at that time with all the DNS info it already found. Everything works fine. Good luck!

No luck getting this working

I have installed the driver to Beos Max v.2, it reports as though the adapter is working but it fails using both dchp and manually assigned IP address. Oddly, the system resolves the IP and DNS servers under DHCP but then cannot connect(looks as though it cannot resolve the IP). The system I'm using is a I-Opener,so I really need that adpater to work. Oh yes that adapter functioned fine on that machine under Win2k. Help...please.
