Does anyone know where I might locate the Xircom RBEM56G cardbus driver ? I have an old Dell CPi-A that I thought might be perfect for playing around w/ BeOS but I'm lacking the driver for my PCMCIA card. The link I found on BeBits is 404. TIA....

Philip,
Sorry to take so long to respond. I finally decided to have a look at the Xircom talkback. I guess this isn't the forum for this but . . .
I installed PE onto my Libretto Win98 partition. I created a 1.5 GB BFS partition and used installer to install PE to that partition. Then I uninstalled the PE installation from the Win98 partition to save space.
I think you could also use Simple Backup to create a zip file of an existing BeOS installation from another computer, burn it onto a cd and expand it onto the BeOS partition on your Libretto.
Send me an email at tyropublishing@yahoo.com if you like.

Hi,
I found Stan Gordon's message through Google.
As I've been trying several times to get BeOS PE (or even Beos MAX) installed on my Toshiba Libretto 110 with no success, I'm very curious as to how you got it working in the first place. Getting Cardbus to work is priority 2 for the moment.
I could never get it to boot beyond the initial screens - it would hang there no matter what options I specified.
TIA,
Philip

I installed BeOS PE on my Toshiba Libretto 110CT. How thrilled I was to find Martijn's driver for the cardbus modem. It worked once, but now it won't. It works okay when I use it in Windows 98 SE, so I know that it is not a hardware problem.
The device is a Xircom CardBus Ethernet 100 + Modem 56 (RBEM56G-100). After installing the driver, I get an icon on the desktop "EnableModem.sh." When I double-click on it, I get the following in the terminal window.
Welcome to the BeOS shell.
Failed to open the kernel driver, exiting.

I'm grateful for any help you can give me.

I've been trying to download this driver, but it's a dead link... can someone tell me where I can download it from?
Thanks,
M.
