Sorry, I might have made myself look like a know it all with my previous post when I wrote,
"I did post here earlier that I had got the mail filters to work with my system. I copied the file msgFilterRules.dat from windows xp mozilla settings, on my windows xp partition" and also wrote that it might have been taken from that - so it was posted on the download page that the filters can now be saved. As if it depends on me!
Sorry about that, but it looked strange that the message filters can now be saved, that appears before the download link.

if you mean current mozilla-bone, pls try following trick - if you have single account, create second one in MozillaMail (shouldn't be real).
Then, after you made new filter, and is in main filter window, try to switch there between two accounts forth and back ("Filters for:" drop-down list).
Then close mozilla, open, and look if new filter is there.

I tried saving some mail filters with the December 8, 2004 from 1.7 codebase Mozilla Bone build and I still cannot save them.
I did post here earlier that I had got the mail filters to work with my system. I copied the file msgFilterRules.dat from windows xp mozilla settings, on my windows xp partition.
I might not have been very clear. I just meant that I could make it sort messages properly, but still cannot save them.
I have not seen anyone post a thing about message filters before and I seemed to be the first to enter a bug report with bugzilla, even though this problem has been around for a long time. Is everone using another application for email? I really like the spam filter in mozilla it doesn't need as much training as the spam filter in Mail Daemon Relacement. The method of making filter rules is also easier, that is if they would only be saved.

there has been quite a flurry of work on Firefox over the last month; work is continuing but I'm hoping the dev team will have a version they feel comfortable about posting here, soon. In the meantime, you should in theory be able to use the BONE version under Zeta. Since I don't have Zeta Neo, I can't say for certain. Good luck!

I made the mistake of starting up Firefox 1.0.0-d4 (net-server) with the text file while I already had one window open, and it crashed the open firefox.
I am wondering how I might be able to prevent that from happening. I know I can open another window with the "New Window" option from an already open Firefox Window, however, since I use Windows regularly, I am in the habit of opening new firefox windows from quick launch, and I would like to fix this issue so I prevent it from happening again. I tried changing firefox-bin in the Firefox folder, and it happened again.
I don't know if I need to change EVERY Be Application in the the Firefox folder for it to work. Any idea would be great.
Thanks.

I can't get it to run on my PC at all. Tried resetting the profile etc etc. Simply, nothing happens when you try to run it.
I'd recommend you find the previous version.

I had been having an issue with Firefox locking up when browsing, and Process controller showing full CPU usage. I posted the problem in the talkback for Firefox 0.8, but saw someone in this talkback list with the same problem, so decided that it had nothing to do with the particular Firefox build. In my BIOS, I had at some time in the past enabled "Plug and Play aware OS", don't even remember why now. In any event, I found a reference to this feature in "The BeOS Bible", which mentioned that BeOS doesn't like Plug and Play very much. So I disabled "Plug and Play aware OS" in the BIOS, and Firefox now runs correctly, without locking up, without maxing out Process Controller. I hope what worked for me helps someone else as well.

Check the color of the tab. Sometimes mozilla (and FF) have modal alerts that don't stay in front - if the main moz/ff tab is grey that may be what has happened - look for any alert windows listed in deskbar and close them.
Other than that it seems a bit odd- is your system quite low on memory?

Just installed Firefox & Mozilla bleeding edge 0.9.3 for BONE.
It had trouible making it work, but it works now.
I removed the File Type "Firefox" from FileTypes preference panel. And I also installed the empty profile in ~/config.
But sometimes it just doesn't load a page .. I need to close Firefox and reload it, then it loads the page immediately.

Yes the mail filters are now working properly from the action I took in my previous post. That is copying msgFilterRules.dat from Mozilla settings in my Windows XP partition.
It is not that Mozilla loses information when it is restarted but it is not able to save it to the hard disk in the first.

I have always had problems with Mozilla netserver mail filters as far back as I can remember.
It has never been able to retain the mail filters that I setup, after a restart. I have been able to setup mail filters and they will run before I close Mozilla Mail and the browser but it is unable to save the msgFilterRules file in: config/settings/Mozilla/default/i95p1cgt.slt/Mail/Local Folders.
I tried something a bit different this time. I copied the msgFilterRules.dat file from my Windows XP partition. The filters I setup there are exactly the same as the filters and folders I want in Beos.
After I edited the mail filters from Beos to point the filters where each folder to move messages and creating each of these folders.
The message filters are now able to work correctly and when I restart Mozilla everything is still there in Message Filters.
At least the filters run properly when I click the button to run filter now for each filter. I have not had any mail come in from my ISP server as yet, to see if it works properly this way, but there is no reason why it should not work now.
I will write another comment here when some mail comes in and confirm this or not.
The version I tried this on is:
Mozilla 1.8a2.

I tried linking libbind.so into the firefox directory but it didn't help.

I've downloaded latest avaible Firefox (0.9.3) native app for BONE, dumped /boot/home/config/settings/Mozilla folder and all other Mozilla apps installed, cleared FileType base from any Mozilla/Firefox types and IT STILL DOESN'T WORK! Firefox terminates immediately after launch without any messages :( My current OS is R5.1d0 Exp/Dano.
Why? What I did wrong? What should I do?

Difficult to pinpoint the exact trigger, but the latest BONE build hangs on my machine, usually after browsing for 5-20 minutes and clicking between windows/prompts too quickly. ProcessController shows the main firefox process using all available CPU (looping?) Crashes if I try to debug. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Thanks for the tips. Updating to 5.01 and 5.03 got the application started. It locked up however every time I started it. Installed the empty profile and it didnt hang anymore. But it doesnt really start the app either. When I launch the executable, the application starts and immediately quits. I see the firefox-button appearing for a second and then it disappears. If someone can tell me what the problem is ..? Your help is much appreciated !

Actually mozilla also has a problem if you go straight from R5.00 to R5.03 - you must install the 5.01 update first, then the 5.03 one.

You're using R5.00 or R5.01. You need the R5.03 update, which contains a new libroot.so, which contains getsockopt.

I did a Firefox 1.0 PR for netserver, but i didn't put it anywhere, besides BeShare. It's only a test build without libs reorganized (you can't use Open With, etc). On the other side, it doesn't have launch problems and i use an extension here just ok :)
