I've left BeOS, I'll still be about, but not an active BeOS user.
This Open Source project has been very receptive to the non-Linux contributions I've made with the help of mmu_man, if anyone is interested in this, please let me know. The source compiles 'with persuasion'. Give me a shout for any questions.

I installed tC to try it out. Built one of the sample programs (builds fine) and tried to run it. I get the error :
$ example1
sh: ./example1: Missing library
Anyone else encounter this?
Mike
ps - running BeOS R5 Pro. No Bone.

If you know anything about the cross compile tools I'd be willing to have a go... email me or catch me on BeShare (M)

TinyCOBOL can be programmed to work with Postgresql. Take a look at www.tinycobol.net, theres some sample code that you can try out. Example tdb03 will build with some makefile editing (change /usr/local to /boot/home/config). I've not had it working successfully, but give it a shot!

Go with the PostgreSQL support. It wouldn't hurt.
You might suddenly find yourself supporting a lot COBOL coders out there, though.

Bring it on! If you can cross-compile, I'd love to get a PPC version.

Anyone want to see CGI COBOL?
Anyone bothered about another version?

Come on guys, this is one of the most steadily lucrative languages to program in, give your comments of how I can improve it! Should I look at getting it to build with Postgresql backend support? Where do you want to see it going?
