I can see that someone else already railed you for the MDI thing, so I'll spare you from my rant on that.
Please, make that an option. :-)

I think BeOS needs something like EditPad - my favourite simple text editor :)
Can You make "tabs" for each document? And maybe a list of all active documents, so if there are more tabs than window width i can use list to just choose one i need. (by list i mean one position seen, and after click on arrow i can scroll, like in html.. or OT after right click)

I think MDI has it's uses in some cases, for example I love Opera's MDI mode when i have to use that other "OS", which name I will not say, at work. And by the way, I did not write that MDI code, I only used BeMDI library which can be found at BeBits (look at link under this app). And also, if you would read the included readme.txt, you'd see thet i will make MDI capability an option in later versions.
