The PPC version works very well on my Mac and BeBox. The 'About' box says it was made for R4, but appears stable with R5. Maybe it's CPU appetite would drop if it were recompiled?

Hee hee.. I can suspend Slayer itself... Sort of like how back in the day you could use Pulse to turn off both CPUs in a dual (or more) system. :-P

I've never been using another task manager than Slayer since BeOS lives on my hard disk.
Thank you, Arto!

Slayer is one of those invaluable little apps that I keep around for when I need it, and this one has proven to be quite useful indeed. I've got a lot of beta-ish software and sometimes processes start taking up tons of CPU cycles, or something similar. I can go in with Slayer, locate the troublesome process, and kill it off.
Also somewhat handy is the suspend and resume feature in Slayer. You can suspend any process on the system, and then let it resume from where it was. Be careful though, I'm sure if you suspended your input_server or something, things would get really interesting... ;-)
Anyway, if you ask me, this app is great. Everybody should have a copy of Slayer handy, because you never know when you'll need a bit more info and control than the good ol' three-finger salute can provide.
