i dont mind it ... i do think it looks better than the existing one.
i'd like to see it included in the mozilla builds for beos and then probably changed yearly or on major releases.

Why not write a script to make the changes so that it does not need to be done by hand?
Also I realy like the Netscape 7.0 splash, why not do a BeOS take off of that. Just my thought.
(by the way I like your splash alot, thanks for posting!)

instead of filing a bug report, your splash screen art should be submitted to the splash screen subproject at http://themes.mozdev.org/bugzilla-splashes/bugzilla.html
this project is the compilation of all the screens submitted to bugzilla bug #32218, and no more attachments to that bug number are admitted.

I realized that the bottom of the image was used when registering components, but figured since components are only registered the first time Mozilla is run it wasn't a big deal. However with your suggestion I will make this change and submit a bug report as I would love to see it added to the default distrobution.
Do you have any suggestions for further changes before the bug is submitted?

Faster than re-downloading the whole shebang, especially if you have a dial-up connection like me.

You should not put text at the bottom of the image. The reason there is a black bar at the bottom of the Mozilla splash screen image, is for progress information. You can see this happen, when new or updated components are registered by XPCOM. To force components to become registered, remove your component.reg file in your mozilla directory, and re-run mozilla.
Just thought I'd let you know. Otherwise, it looks nice. If you want to make it part of the official distro, you should create a bug in BugZilla, mark it for BeOS, and attached the image to the bug.

Try to use the exact same tints of blue and red of the BeOS logo (as in the Deskbar).
I would love to see the classic titlebar-orange too, but it probably won't fit in right with the other colors.

WOW! That is absolutely wonderful! Feels very much Be-like, and much more modern than the old splash!
Good work!
